Information For Students

Students and Preceptor

 Welcome!

The Experiential Education Program is the practice component of the Pharmacy Professional Program curriculum. Students are placed with pharmacists in a variety of practice settings. This part of the curriculum allows them to apply the skills and knowledge learned in classroom and laboratory to practice settings.

The Office of Experiential Education coordinates the clinical experiences, which are aligned with students’ didactic and laboratory courses. This is a valuable component of every students’ professional education. Every effort is made to ensure preparedness and success along the way for both student and preceptor.

The program is divided into early and advance practice experiences. The early experiences are scheduled throughout the first three professional years. These range from interactions with health care consumers and one-on-one pairings with pharmacists, to rotations in hospital and community pharmacies.  The last year of a student’s education consist of advanced rotations. These are scheduled in a variety of traditional and non-traditional practice settings, and are student’s final training before graduation.
