Twin Cities Region

Minneapolis Skyline from U of M east bank

The 40 mile radius of the Twin Cities region includes a large number of major medical centers located in the city, such as Abbott Northwestern Hospital; Hennepin County Medical Center; North Memorial Medical Center; University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview; and the VA Medical Center. There are also many quality practice sites located in nearby suburbs and smaller towns like Chaska, Cannon Falls, Chisago and Cambridge. Every rotation type is represented here, both core rotations and electives. Two thirds of the rotations offered by the College of Pharmacy are in the Twin Cities hub. Rotations are available in MTM clinics and a large variety of specialty practices such as veterinary medicine, natural pharmacy, and compounding. Also available are opportunities for research and teaching.

Forbes magazine recently named our “City of Lakes” #1 on their list of Most Affordable Places To Live Well, citing affordable housing, strength of schools, and quality of health care, as well as our “access to choice arts, leisure and entertainment offerings”.

Sports fans know that the Twin Cities is home to a wide variety of professional teams as well as the University of Minnesota Gophers. Whether you enjoy hockey, baseball, basketball, or football, you’ll be able to see your favorite team play: the Minnesota Wild, Twins, Timberwolves, or Vikings. (And if those are your favorite teams, the Twin Cities is the place to be!)
