Teaching Philosophy

Because of our large volume the students get exposed to a full range of prescriptions and different situations. We feel the best way to learn is by doing so by the end of the rotation the students will be able to take a doctors order and take it to completionand the ability to interpret, react to and initiate change when appropriate.

Institution
We are a 6,000 sq ft large volume pharmacy averaging 400 plus rx’s a day we have a scriptpro Robot to assist in the work flow we have 3 pharmacists and 3 techs at all times

Pharmacy Services
We are full service pharmacy serving the general population and 3 nursing homes

Professionalism and Assessment
We have had students do rotations in pharmacy management so we can give more of the management teaching if the student desires

Resources
We have multiple computers available for the students to use all hooked up to the internet for research.

Community Practice

Student Roles and Responsibilities
All functions of a pharmacist plus doing small research of drug questions as they arise.

Educational Opportunities:
I will take them to P&T at the hospital if it meets during the time that the students are at our site
