Teaching Philosophy
Students will participate in Patient directed learning, building the learning experience around the patient case load presented and a given patient’s unique and individual needs. Students learn the importance of marketing to and recruiting patients for our diverse patient services. We foster relationship building and grow patient and provider communication skills. Students are active participants in Medication Therapy Management from pre-appointment preparation, conducting patient evaluation and assessment, and post appointment documentation, billing and interventions as necessary conforming to best practices guidelines including follow-up. We believe students learn by shadowing, practicing, doing and teaching. Presentations to patients and other health care providers are routine. We work on training student to become a personal Primary Care Pharmacists to their future patients.
