Our teaching philosophy is to help the student to become a community pharmacist by providing a hands-on environment that will include one-on-one opportunities with patients as well as group encounters to help improve the quality-of-life our patients.
Institution
Located within Cub Foods on Vicksburg Lane in Plymouth, this site offers many opportunities that will prepare the student for being a successful community pharmacist.

Pharmacy Services
This site offers traditional pharmacy services, as well as MTM services, specialized Diabetes Care services (both individual and group educational opportunities), immunizations, and selected wellness screenings (including A1c, blood glucose, blood pressure, and cholesterol). At this site you may also become exposed to media opportunities that may include involvement in TV, radio and various health fair expos. Our pharmacist staff consists of Doug White, RPh, PIC, Jill Landecker, PharmD, and Monica Brands, RPh, clinical preceptor. Our pharmacists all have additional training that will help teach the student to become a well-rounded community pharmacist.
Professionalism and Assessment
The student will be assessed and graded on their willingness and abilitiy to provide effective community pharmacy services.

APPE Structure
The majority of time will be at the pharmacy site, with the opportunity to go off-site for learning activities as they become available (diabetic tours and seminars, company sponsored health fairs and expos, presentations, and approved media opportunities).
Student Roles and Responsibilities
Medication counseling, spending time with an MTM specialist and a Diabetes Care pharmacist, OTC counseling, observing and helping with media presentations, and when available attending company-sponsored events such as screening events offered to the general public.
Educational Opportunities
Learning opportunities may include participation in and discussion at diabetic tours and seminars, MTM interviews, and sitting in on a P & T committee meeting.
