The Experiential Education Program is the practice component of the Pharmacy Professional Program curriculum. Its goal is to enhance the students' attitude, skills and knowledge to better prepare them to provide pharmaceutical care.

APPE Program

The Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) consist of 45 weeks of pharmacy practice experience in the 4th year of the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum. The APPE program begins in mid-May following the 3rd professional year and moves through 3 fifteen week trimesters, finishing in late April/early May the following year.

Five core/required experiences and 3 elective experiences are completed by all students with all but the required Acute Patient Care APPEs (10 weeks) being 5 weeks in length. Each APPE type has specific learning outcomes to guide the student and preceptor and upon which the student evaluations are built.
