St. Cloud Region

The St. Cloud Region includes community and institutional sites providing inpatient and outpatient care including medicine, surgery, psychiatry, long term care and specialty care. Pharmaceutical care and collaborative prescribing are provided for patients via referrals for drug therapy management of anticoagulation, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, schizophrenia, and other chronic conditions. Sites in the region include Paynesville Area Health Care System, Fairview Northland in Princeton, Option Care Home Infusion in Sauk Rapids, Coborns and Cashwise, Walgreens, Saint Cloud VA Medical Center, Saint Cloud Hospital, Goodrich Pharmacy of Elk River, and Rice Memorial in Wilmar. Educational opportunities include Grand Rounds, presentations to your fellow students, and case presentations.

Pharmacy Service Highlights
Pharmacy in the region has gradually evolved to some of the most advanced practice in the United States. Medication management services with collaborative prescribing are provided to thousands of patients annually. Automation includes provider order entry, completely computerized medical record, bar code medication dispensing and administration, and automated dispensing cabinets. There are pharmacy residencies in Paynesville and the Saint Cloud VA Medical Center.

Opportunities for recreation
The region includes dozens of lakes, theaters, parks, gardens, and hundreds of reataurants.
