Teaching Philosophy

A student interested in ownership I sent to other independents in the area to do a business valuation using formulas from NCPA. A student interested in MTM was paired with our pharmacist operating Innovative Therapeutics, our MTM business, A student will be exposed to the operation and management of an independent retail pharmacy. A student will be required to attend all manager and employee meetings and present a short “in-service” at least one meeting. A student has an opportunity to visit or work at more than one of our locations and experience a clinic pharmacy, a high volume pharmacy utilizing automation, a medical equipment store and a small town rural pharmacy.

Trumm Drug Inc. is a private, family owned corporation, which operates seven retail locations. The owners of the company are Greg Trumm, Paul Trumm and Mark Trumm. The primary business of Trumm Drug Inc. is retail Pharmacy/Drug Store. Stores at 600 Fillmore Street in Alexandria MN, 114 East Soo Street in Parkers Prairie MN, 11 Central Avenue South in Elbow Lake MN and 1 Minnesota Avenue East in Glenwood MN are full service drug stores offering prescriptions, Over The Counter (OTC) health and beauty care items, gifts, greeting cards, food and snacks, and general merchandise. Trumm Drug Clinic Pharmacy, located in the Alexandria Clinic at 610 30^th Avenue West, Alexandria MN and Trumm Drug Elbow Lake Clinic Pharmacy, located in the ELEAH Medical Center at 930 1^st Street NE in Elbow Lake MN offer prescriptions and OTC health care items. Trumm Drug, Inc. owns and operates Trumms Home Medical Specialties, located at 610 Fillmore Street, next door to Trumm Drug. Trumms Home Medical Specialties specializes in Home Medical Equipment (HME), such as hospital beds, walkers, wheelchairs, commodes and crutches. These items are offered for sale or rent. THMS also sells braces, bandages, support stockings and hosiery, and a wide variety of home health care medical supplies and equipment. Innovative Therapeutics (IT) is a Medication Therapy Management (MTM) service recently started. IT operates out of the Trumms Home Medical Specialties location by appointment.

Our Pharmacies service multiple nursing homes and group homes utilizing different dosing systems. Compounding is done to various degrees depending on location.
