Teaching Philosophy
The preceptors and administrative staff are very supportive of pharmacy students. Bigfork Valley offers a unique interprofessional rural experience for students. Free housing is also available for students right on the Bigfork Valley campus.

Detailed Site Information
Institution Bigfork Valley is a twenty bed critical access hospital with a hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy and home care opportunities. There are 11 rooms for 20 licensed beds in the inpatient wing, designed for acute care, swing bed and transitional use.

APPE Structure: There is an opportunity to do a blended APPE (more than 5 weeks).
Student Roles and Responsibilities Students can be involved in all aspects of patient care.
Educational Opportunities: Presentations will be done to patients, elders, staff, and community.
Other Requirements Students need to complete an HIPAA and emergency contact information form.

APPE Structure: There is an opportunity to do a blended APPE (more than 5 weeks). Mornings could be spent at the hospital and the afternoons can be spent in the community pharmacy. Site visits will also be done to outlying clinics in Marcell, Balsam, and Couleraine.
Student Roles and Responsibilities Students can be involved in all aspects of patient care.

APPE Structure: There is an opportunity to do a blended APPE (more than 5 weeks). Mornings could be spent at the hospital and the afternoons can be spent in the community pharmacy. The hospital pharmacy is staffed 8 to 3 Monday to Friday.
Student Roles and Responsibilities Students can be involved in all aspects of patient care.
Educational Opportunities: Presentations will be done to patients, elders, staff, and community.
Other Requirements Students need to complete an HIPAA and emergency contact information form.
