Patient Care APPE


The Patient Care Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience is a required 5 week supervised clinical experience in a patient care setting. This APPE can take place in inpatient or outpatient pharmacy practices where direct patient contact and care occurs. Students may participate in rounds, clinical care conferences, take medication histories, monitor drug therapy including performing physical assessments, provide patient education, and research patient-specific drug information. Many of the sites providing Patient Care APPEs also provide either Ambulatory Care, Community Practice or Acute Patient Care APPEs.
