Teaching Philosophy

A very open preceptor student relationship that allows sharing of knowledge and reality based experiences.   The rotation will be a hands on small rural hospital experience.

Healthcare is of the utmost importance to the needs of area residents. Falls Memorial Hospital and the International Falls Clinic provide state-of-the-art technology. Falls Memorial Hospital offers diagnostic and therapeutic services, rehabilitation services, urgent care and a physician-staffed emergency room 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The International Falls Clinic is part of the St. Mary's Duluth Clinic Health System offering one of the most specialized and comprehensive healthcare systems in Minnesota.

Recognizing that a first-class education system is the cornerstone of a strong community, the public schools in I-Falls provide a comprehensive education for over 1,400 learners. From kindergarten through high school, students are presented with a multitude of opportunities, including cutting edge technology, music and the arts, sporting activities, and outdoor learning options.

Serving children from the entire community is the St. Thomas Aquinas School. This accredited parochial school offers students from preschool to eighth grade the opportunity to learn in an alternative setting and accepts pupils from both within and outside of the parish.

Rainy River Community College is able to offer students post-high school learning. This two-year public college offers associate degrees, technical program diplomas, and custom training for business and industry. The community utilizes the continuing education and training programs for personal development and employment opportunities.
