Tuition Deposit
Applicants who are admitted pay a $500 nonrefundable tuition deposit to hold a place in the College. The deposit, along with a signed Declaration of Intent, is due in full within three weeks of admission. The tuition deposit is applied to students' fall semester tuition. Deposits are not refunded to applicants who do not enroll in the year for which they have been admitted. Deposits are not transferable to another application cycle.
Financial Certification Statement
International students (non-US citizens or permanent residents) must submit a Financial Certification form along with the Declaration of Intent and $500 deposit in order to secure a position in the college.
Background Study Requirement
Minnesota law requires that any student who provides services that involve unsupervised direct contact with patients and residents at hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health undergo a background study conducted by the state. The study covers civil agency findings related to maltreatment of children or vulnerable adults and a range of criminal convictions. A student who is disqualified from having direct patient contact as a result of the background study, and whose disqualification is not set aside by the Commissioner of Health, may not participate in a clinical placement in these licensed health care facilities. Student Immunizations
This form is not required for admissions. However, ALL admitted students to the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy must have the Student Immunization record completed and signed by their health care provided before the first day of class, Tuesday, September 4, 2008. This form is available at: www.bhs.umn.edu/services/AHC.htm. Note that the Hepatitis B series takes 6 months to complete and must be completed by September 4, 2008.
Essential Capacities
The University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy welcomes diverse applicants. All applicants accepted into the Pharm.D. program need to meet the Essential Capacities (pdf) as outlined by the College with or without reasonable accommodations.
