Twin Cities Campus

The Twin Cities Campus of the College of Pharmacy lies on the East Bank of the Twin Cities campus, in the heart of the Academic Health Center.

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul possess two very distinct urban cores, and a metropolis that about 3 million people call home. Consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the U.S., the area's park systems, lakes, and emphasis on the arts keep it a vibrant place to live.

In the Academic Health Center, College of Pharmacy students study with and near students in other health disciplines, such as Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health, and more. All classes in the College of Pharmacy are held within a one-block radius. Most college courses are held in Weaver-Densford Hall and Moos Tower. Students enjoy the facilities of one of the top three research universities in the U.S.

Class size at the Twin Cities campus is held to 110 students. Students in the college attend all required courses with their classmates. Students on the Twin Cities campus are highly involved in student governance, college committees, and student organizations. Electives and Pharmaceutical Care Lab courses consist of fewer students per class. Many of our Twin Cities faculty are world-renowned experts in their fields of research. College of Pharmacy research has resulted in groundbreaking medications and treatments for diseases such as HIV and AIDS.

Notable faculty contributions include:

  • The college is a world leader in the study of pharmaco-economics.   Dr. Steven Schondelmeyer and the college's PRIME Institute are highly sought after for their expertise in the pricing of drugs and economics of health care.
  • The college is a world leader in drug development.   Dr. Robert Vince, creator of the anti-AIDS drug Ziagen, and the college's Center for Drug Design, are paving the way for more life-saving drugs.
