Careers in Pharmacy


Pharmacists are among the most highly-respected professionals in the country. The pharmacist's roles are expanding. Pharmacists:

  • care for patients' drug-related needs in community pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities and home health-care settings.
  • act as drug therapy consultants to other health professionals.
  • design new drugs and diagnostic techniques and devise new ways to administer drugs.
  • educate pharmacy students.
  • conduct research in colleges and universities and drug companies.
  • work in government health agencies.
  • administer pharmacy services in health-care institutions.
  • manage pharmacy services for large health maintenance organizations.
