Pharmaceutics Home introduction

Welcome !

The Pharmaceutics Graduate Program at the University of Minnesota offers a broad-based education to prepare students for research in the development and testing of drug products leading to the Ph.D. degree. The dual nature of our program involves both investigating the interactions of the drug with complex biological systems, and the physical and chemical formulation of drugs for delivery.

As a student in the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutics at the University of Minnesota, you will develop a broad background in the scientific disciplines, both physical and biological, that affect all stages of the drug development process. Through your dissertation research, you will become an expert in a chosen field of specialization, which can be pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug metabolism, crystal engineering, polymer-based drug delivery, biophysical chemistry, or molecular biopharmaceutics. We believe that the combined breadth and depth of our program is the best way for our students to become well-rounded, independent research scientists for academia, industry, and government.

As you read on, you will see how we have crafted a program that prepares students for satisfying careers in pharmaceutics. We invite you to cross the bridge with us and make a difference in health care.
