Phm 8120 READINGS IN CNS DRUG DELIVERY (1 credit). Weekly discussion of recent publications, methods and analyses relevant to research on delivery of drugs to the central nervous system. Offered concurrently with Phm 8481. Professor Fairbanks.

PHARMACOKINETICS RESEARCH SEMINAR (2 credits). Advanced topics in animal and human pharmacokinetics.  Professors Elmquist and Zimmerman.

Phm 8295

RESEARCH PROBLEMS (credits arranged). Experimental investigation of problems in pharmaceutics.  Professor: All faculty.

Phm 8421

MODELING APPROACHES IN PHARMACOKINETICS
(4 credits). Application of compartmental, non-compartmental, and physiological model analyses to study absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs.  Professors Elmquist, Sawchuk and Zimmerman.

SPECIAL TOPICS IN PHARMACEUTICS: MATERIALS, MECHANISMS AND MODELS IN DRUG DELIVERY
(2 credits). Diversified subjects related to the development of drug delivery systems and the use of biomaterials for controlled delivery. Application of pharmaceutical principles in the development of drug delivery systems. Consideration of material, drug and tissue interactions addressed.  Professors Siegel and Panyam.

Phm 8441

SOLUBILITY AND SOLID-STATE PROPERTIES OF DRUGS (3 credits). Physical and physicochemical properties of drugs in solid state as related to drug delivery.  Professors Suryanarayanan and Wiedmann.

Phm 8481

ADVANCED NEUROPHARMACEUTICS (MVB/NSC/PHM 8481) (3 credits). Delivery of compounds to the central nervous system to activate proteins in specific brain regions for therapeutic benefit. Pharmaceutical/ pharmacological issues specific to direct drug delivery to CNS.  Professor Fairbanks.
