The Max and Rose Sadoff Symposium on Pharmacy, Law and Ethics was established in 1992 by Robert and Harold Sadoff in memory of their parents, who were 1925 graduates of the College of Pharmacy.
In addition to establishing the symposium, the Sadoffs also funded an endowed scholarship for pharmacy students who have an interest in pharmacy, law and ethics. The 2007 Sadoff Scholarship recipients were first year pharmacy students, Arinzechukwu Nkemdirim Okere and Michael Austin.
Robert Sadoff is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He is the director of the Center for Studies in Social-Legal Psychiatry and the director of the Forensic Psychiatry Clinic, University of Pennsylvania. He received his M.D. in 1959 from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He and his wife, Joan, have three grown children.
Harold Sadoff received his B.S. degree from the College of Pharmacy in 1965. Harold went on to pursue his law degree and he now practices law in Minneapolis. He and his wife, Jacquelyn, have a daughter, and two sons.
Max and Rose Sadoff operated a community drugstore in South Minneapolis for many years.
