WHAT:
Lecture on Neuro-Enhancement: What Should, and Shouldn’t, We Worry About
Neuro-enhancement, or the use of drugs to boost some mental ability, is a subject of increasing interest among scientists and the general population alike. Media reports point to an increase in the use of drugs approved for medical conditions like hyperactivity and narcolepsy being used instead to sharpen thinking and to remain wakeful and alert; future drugs may open other attractive possibilities. This lecture will address the ethics of using drugs for neuro-enhancement and will offer some suggestions about safe and responsible use.
