Faculty and Student Entrepreneurs: Academics for the Real World

The University will be making an investment in a dedicated development pipeline for human therapeutics that will help advance important pharmaceutical academic discoveries with commercial potential. The source of discoveries for this endeavor includes scientists in all schools and research corridors within the University. Learn more about the dedicated development pipeline.

As part of this important initiative, a visiting lectureship/strategy clinic is being offered that will feature experts with established track records of bringing therapeutics to market including the following topics: pharmaceutical development, formulation, testing, marketing and everything involved in commercialization. The goal of these strategic clinics is to better enable scientists at the University of Minnesota to turn their discoveries into commercialized products that will both advance science as well as help patients. This includes you!

The first strategic clinic will be a presentation and discussion on academic entrepreneurship given by Dr. Glenn Prestwich of the University of Utah. Dr. Prestwich is an inventor on over 39 patents and patent applications for human therapeutic products, including the enabling technologies for several commercially-relevant start-up companies. Read Dr. Prestwichs statement, Faculty and Student Entrepreneurs: Academics for the Real World.

Come learn about the dedicated development pipeline for human therapeutics and hear from Dr. Prestwich.
