Admissions


Students are admitted to the Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology track for fall semester only. The application deadline is February 1. Applications received after February 1 will be considered on a space-available basis only.

Requirements

  • U.S. Bachelor's degree or a comparable foreign degree from a recognized college or university. In general, preference will be given to candidates who have had professionally-related pharmacy education, but individuals from other fields such as biology, chemistry, statistics and public health will be considered.
  • There is no foreign language requirement.
  • The TOEFL score is required of foreign applicants who are non-native English speakers. A minumum score of 237 on the paper TOEFL and 70 on the internet based test plus a minimum score of 21 on the writing section and 19 on the reading section,is required of non-native English-speaking applicants. Scores should be sent directly to the Graduate School and a copy should be included in the application to the department
  • GRE scroes are required of non-U.S.PharmD applicants. Scores should be sent directly to the Graduate School with a copy sent to the department.
  • Applicants must satisfy the general requirements of the Graduate School, including a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average in previous college work.

Applications

Graduate School Application

Graduate School requires that all applications be completed online at Applyyourself.com.    The University of Minnesota institution code is 6874 and the department code is 2013,  The Graduate School application should include:

  • Graduate School Application
  • Application fee (amount stated in the Graduate School Application)
  • Official transcripts from each college or university you have attended, including the University of Minnesota
  • GRE scores if required
  • TOEFL scores if required

Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology Application

Departmental application should include:

  • Graduate applicant profile form
  • Supplementary application form
  • Three letters of recommendation from people who can reflect on the applicant's academic or professional experience.  It should include full name of student and names, address, phone number and email address of the recommender.
  • Photocopies of official test scores: GRE and TOEFL (if required)
  • Other possible inclusions:  list of honors and distinctions, titles of articles and publications, presentations, and/or details of past research.
