Graduate Program

We welcome your interest in the graduate program track in Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology (ECP). ECP is one of two tracks of study within the Social, Administrative and Clinical Pharmacy program in the Graduate School.

The ECP track was designed specifically for students interested in clinical research. The goal is to advance the science of human pharmacology and therapeutics to improve the safe, effective and economical use of drugs by patients.

As a student in the program, you will study such topics as experimental pharmacotherapy, drug metabolism, infectious disease and pharmacotmetrics. Together with faculty you will design a program that prepares you for a distinguished career in clinical research.

Post-doctoral Fellowships

Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology offers two post-doctoral fellowships to PharmD graduates.

The Department's home is in Weaver-Densford Hall on the East Bank of the campus.  Faculty and graduate students are also doing research in the McNamara Translational Research Building and in the fall of 2007 the 717 Delaware Building will also open for ECP research..

The College of Pharmacy is part of the Academic Health Center of the University of Minnesota which also includes highly ranked programs in medicine, dentistry, nursing, public health and veterinary medicine.

The metropolitan area is home to the state government offices, regulary agencies, HMOs, hospitals and colleges.  The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul offer a progressive, growing community in which to live.  Recreational and cultural activities are plentiful, theaters, museums, sports teams, lakes and rivers are located throughout the cities and the state.
