Residency Programs in Duluth


PPPS faculty are actively involved in providing residency opportunities to Doctor of Pharmacy graduates. In fact, Duluth is currently host to two ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency programs spanning across four practice sites and hosting five residents.  The programs are coordinated by PPPS faculty and in collaboration with area healthcare facilities.  Program overviews and information on how to apply can be found at these links and/or by contacting the residency directors.

St. Mary’s Medical Center

Saint Mary's Medical Center is part of a truly integrated health system that provides the opportunity for residents to follow patients through the continuum of care. This highly flexible residency program allows for the advanced development of skill in patient care, education, and advancing pharmacy practice. Rotations are available in, but not limited to: internal medicine, critical care, pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, infectious disease, cardiology, oncology, ambulatory care, hospice, research, practice management, and anticoagulation.

University of Minnesota Pharmaceutical Care Residency Program

This program is focused on preparing practitioners for patient-centered practice in ambulatory care settings.  Longitudinal ambulatory care experiences are available at a variety of sites allowing residents to focus on issues such as clinic-based practices, care for indigent and culturally diverse populations, rural health care delivery, leadership and preparation for careers in academia.

    Min No Aya Win Clinic is a Native American clinic operated by the Human Services Division of the Fond du Lac tribe in Cloquet, MN.
  • St. Mary’s/Duluth Clinic Health System
    Saint Mary's/Duluth Clinic Health System is Duluth's largest health system and offers a residency based in the Duluth Clinic internal medicine department.
  • SuperiorHealth Center
    SuperiorHealth is a comprehensive, family-focused health care center based out of Two Harbors, MN, that has served the needs of the North Shore communities since 1944.
