Interprofessional Activities
Interprofessional activities provide an opportunity for pharmacy students to collaborate with colleagues in other health care professions, including but not limited to, physicians, nurses, social work, and physical therapy. These experiences encourage students to take a team approach to the delivery of health care. Many interprofessional opportunities are available to Duluth students through their academics, social events, and service activities.

First-year Pharmacy and Medical Students Hit the Road for Rural Community Visits
Pharmacy Students Precept Medical School Colleagues Building on an ever-increasing number of interprofessional education ventures between the Medicine School Duluth and the College of Pharmacy, Duluth, three P3 students assisted with teaching first- and second-year medical students how to administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. All three Pharm.D. students are graduates of the Vaccination Tour and seasoned vaccinators from having worked several influenza vaccination clinics at UMD and elsewhere. Our students did a terrific job of precepting the medical students as they practiced administering IM injections of saline to each other. Everyone was appreciative of the opportunity to participate in this educational experience with colleagues.
