About PPPS
History of the Duluth Program The decision to expand the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy program to the Duluth campus was made primarily to address two initiatives: 1) to increase the number of pharmacy graduates, thereby helping to alleviate the shortage of pharmacists, and 2) to serve the needs of Greater Minnesota by focusing on rural healthcare and placement of pharmacists to rural areas.
Mission The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PPPS) provides outstanding education, excellence in research, and service to the public and other health professions. The department emphasizes rural health care issues and the provision of pharmaceutical care in rural and tribal communities and is committed to providing these services to the communities of Greater Minnesota.
