The Peters Institute of Pharmaceutical Care is a research and program development unit within the College of Pharmacy at the University of Minnesota. The fundamental purpose of the Institute is to advance the practice of pharmaceutical care.

Our mission is to develop educational programs to disseminate pharmaceutical care practice to students and practitioners, and to conduct research to evaluate the impact of this practice on patients and society.

We are committed to the belief that rational drug use is an essential component of health care, and that a pharmaceutical care practitioner making drug therapy decisions at the patient-specific level of practice is necessary to assure the appropriate, effective, safe and convenient use of drug therapy.
