Research is the backbone of the Center for Excellence in Critical Care. The faculty is committed to improvement in care and outcomes in the critically ill and injured patient. The hospitals and the Academic Health Center of the University of Minnesota are committed to research.
The interdisciplinary uniqueness of the Center for Excellence in Critical Care, the Academic Health Center, the Fairview-University Medical Center and the outreach system in place with Regions Hospital, Hennepin County Medical Center, the Minneapolis Veterans Hospital, the Burn Center, the Cancer and Transplant Centers make the Center for Excellence in Critical Care the ideal partner for research collaboration.
The University of Minnesota is an outstanding teaching and research institution. The Center is comprised of faculty from the Medical School (ranked 33rd nationally), the College of Pharmacy (ranked 5th nationally), the School of Nursing (ranked 27th nationally), the School of Public Health and the Center for Bioethics.
Dynamic, involved and committed faculty make up the core of the Center. Whether they are in Anesthesiology or Nursing, Surgery or Pharmacy, members of the faculty are known for their extensive research and publication and the quality of care for their patients. Each faculty member has their own labs, fellows and staff who bring additional skills to expand the research capabilities of the Center's research team.
