NEW GRANT PROGRAM
The CBI has set aside $50,000 for small instrument grants over the next year. Applicants can request up to $10,000 as a match to assist in obtaining instruments necessary for chemical biological research that are not currently available on campus or where access is very limited. I suggest the following guide lines.
1) Applications can be submitted at any time.
2) Applications should be for instrumentation that is needed by at least 3 faculty investigators.
3) Applications should demonstrate additional funding sources for the acquisition.
For the application I would propose the following be included.
1) Title and description of instrument with justification. Justification should include why this capability is not currently available. (1 paragraph)
2) Description of Projects that will benefit from the new instrumentation from Faculty Investigators (1 paragraph per investigator)
3) Budget with details of other contributing resources. (1 page)
4) Biosketches faculty applicants (2 page max. for each investigator).
